Description
In this session we will learn: Barriers that incarcerated individuals (IP’s) experience both inside correctional facilities and upon release. We’ll explore the stigma associated with being someone with a Justice Involved Background and how it affects Peers in recovery. I will also introduce the Sequential Intercept Model (SIM) as a helpful framework for identifying intervention points and understanding how to provide support at every stage of the justice system. This session will empower Recovery Community Organizations (RCOs) and Peer Recovery Specialists to better serve justice-impacted individuals.
